Il commento di Hudson, lo studente universitario che fa il tirocinio da noi a PPC, in vista di Udinese-Parma.

 

Sabato alle 20:45, il Parma andrà a Udine per giocare contro l'Udinese. Sarà una grande opportunità per guadagnare tre punti ed aumentare la nostra posizione in classifica. La scorsa volta che il Parma ha giocato contro l'Udinese, l'Udinese ha vinto 3-2 al Tardini: il Parma aveva segnato due gol nel primo tempo, ma l'Udinese tre gol consecutivi nel secondo tempo, e aveva vinto la partita 3-2. Questo weekend, speriamo che il Parma possa invertire la rotta. Con un po’ di fortuna, mister Chivu potrebbe proseguire con lo slancio della vittoria contro il Bologna per cambiare la nostra classifica. Ai tutti i soci, cosa ne pensate? Vinceremo contro l'Udinese? Forza Parma, come sempre.

 On Saturday at 20:45, Parma will travel to Udine to play against Udinese. This will be a great opportunity to earn three points and move up in the standings. Last time Parma played against Udinese, Udinese won 3-2 at the Tardini: Parma scored two goals in the first half, but Udinese scored three goals in a row in the second half, and won the match 3-2. This weekend, we hope Parma can turn things around. With a bit of luck, Chivu can continue the momentum of the win against Bologna to change our position in the ranking. DOPO PARMA-BOLOGNA, LE PAROLE DI LORENZO CHE VIVE IN ARGENTINA

 Lorenzo, Socio PPC che vive in Argentina, ci ha inviato questo bellissimo testo e noi lo pubblichiamo volentieri.

 

“Ti ho visto l’altro giorno per strada, eri sovrappensiero”. Così mi salutano spesso gli amici a Buenos Aires, dopo avermi beccato tempo prima a sgattaiolare a piedi, velocissimo, tra i lunghi viali della metropoli. “Probabilmente stavo pensando al Parma”. Più che una battuta, la mia risposta è ogni volta una sincera ammissione. Abitare in Argentina da 30 anni non mi ha mai fatto sentire lontano dalla mia squadra, ne ha anzi rinforzato il senso di appartenenza. 

Tra impegni lavorativi, trovo sempre il tempo di fermarmi ad immaginare come andrà la nostra prossima partita, visualizzandola fantasiosamente sui finestrini dell’autobus a Plaza de Mayo, oppure, nei momenti di attesa all’Università, proiettando la formazione titolare crociata sulle mattonelle intorno. Appena trovo la possibilità, Parma appare pure nelle mie lezioni di Semiologia, mentre spiego significato e significante, o sintagma e sistema; per poi notare con sottile orgoglio gli alunni che scrivono sui loro quaderni il mio esempio, utilizzandolo talvolta anche nei loro compiti scritti.

Tornare al Tardini è quindi per me una sorta di sintesi dei pensieri e delle speranze che accumulo durante il resto dell’anno. Oltre a ritrovare amici carissimi e riprovare sapori unici che solo Parma può offrire, i novanta minuti in Curva Nord sono un concentrato di tutte quelle emozioni che inizio a pensare, oserei dire bramare, già tempo prima, dopo il mio consueto rientro in Sudamerica per l’inizio degli impegni accademici. 

Quest’anno il dio del calcio ha voluto che scegliessi proprio Parma per le partite contro Monza e Bologna, facendomi vivere una doppietta unica: è la prima volta infatti che riesco ad assistere a due vittorie di fila in casa. Ne ho viste molte anche in D, in C e in B, ma un dittico tale non mi era ancora capitato. Il Tardini quest’anno, ha inoltre rappresentato per me l’inizio e il concludersi del mio viaggio in Italia, dal rigore di Hernani e le feste di fine anno, a quello di Bonny, più contropiede firmato Man-Sohm, per farmi rientrare in Argentina con la rinnovata speranza di una salvezza da conquistare. A un primo tempo colmo della abituale tensione è seguito un secondo tempo più organico, di mestiere, con maggiore compattezza e consapevolezza nelle nostre capacità. Adesso è il tempo degli esami, sia per i crociati che saranno alle prese con l’ultimo terzo di stagione, sia per me, che scrivo queste parole mentre mi trovo sul volo intercontinentale e già domani mi aspettano in sede a correggere le prime esposizioni orali. Mi vedranno contento, perché ho visto vincere il Parma.

Una grande vittoria per il Parma

Nella prima partita di Chivu, il Parma ha vinto 2-0 nel derby contro il Bologna, con gol di Ange-Yoan Bonny e Simon Sohm. Questo è stato il miglior modo di iniziare con il nuovo allenatore, con 3 punti. Dopo questa vittoria, il Parma ha aumentato i punti in classifica e ha lasciato la terzultima posizione. Speriamo che la squadra possa continuare così!

In Chivu’s first game in charge, Parma won 2-0 in the derby against Bologna, with goals from Ange-Yoan Bonny and Simon Sohm. This was the best possible way to begin with the new coach, with 3 points. After this result, Parma moved out of the relegation zone and into 17th place. We hope the team can continue on like this!

 Finalmente!

Che bello, il Tardini pieno di gioia per una vittoria che mancava da troppo tempo!

Un Parma messo molto bene in campo dal nuovo mister Chivu limita le qualità del Bologna soprattutto grazie al grande lavoro richiesto ai due esterni di attacco, Cancellieri ed Almqvist, che in fase di non possesso si schieravano molto bassi a chiudere le linee di passaggio rossoblu, e da uno di questi intercetti nel secondo tempo nasce l’azione dello splendido secondo gol crociato! La classica partita perfetta, vantaggio nel primo tempo su rigore e raddoppio nella ripresa in contropiede!! Avanti così, piccoli gesti sembrano far pensare ad una fiducia ritrovata! Testa ad Udine sperando di riavere Bernabe il prima possibile!

Finally! 

How nice to see, the Tardini filled with joy after our first victory in some time! A Parma set up very well on the field by the new coach Chivu to limit the quality of Bologna, above all thanks to the hard work requested of the wingers in attack, Cancellieri and Almqvist, who in phases without the ball dropped back to cut off the red and blue passing lanes, and from one of these interceptions in the second half came the action for the splendid second goal! The classic perfect game, with the advantage in the first half from the penalty and doubling our advantage in the second half on the counterattack! Keep going like this, small gestures seem to suggest a newfound confidence! Time to focus on Udine, hoping to have Bernabe back as soon as possible!

Come commento alla partita, direi che, a parte alcune scelte tattiche di Chivu, in campo si percepiva più attenzione del solito con i Crociati che dialogavano molto... cosa che non vedevo da un po’ di tempo. Spero ovviamente non sia solamente l'effetto novità...Ovviamente, ribadisco che attenzione e dialogo in campo possano essere la chiave di svolta

As a comment on the match, I would say that, apart from some tactical choices by Chivu, there was more attention than usual on the pitch with the Crusaders talking a lot... something I haven't seen for a while. I obviously hope it's not just the novelty effect... Obviously, I reiterate that attention and dialogue on the pitch can be the key to turning things around

PARMA-ROMA, IL COMMENTO IN INGLESE DI HUDSON

Hudson è un ragazzo americano che ha iniziato uno stage a PPC.

Pre-Match

Biking to the Stadio Ennio Tardini, which is around 10 minutes from where I live in Parma, I could sense the anticipation. Fans in yellow and blue were walking to the stadium in full force, ready to watch their team turn things around against a mid-table Roma side missing some key players, most notably their talisman Paulo Dybala. Parma went into the game under intense pressure, winless in their last 6 matches- losing 4 and drawing 2 in that spell. Sitting 18th in the table, at the tip of the relegation zone, it needs no emphasizing how massive a win against Roma would have been for them. The stadium itself sits around 22,000 fans, and it presents a truly unique atmosphere. Parma is a historic club, having enjoyed some incredible spells over the years, most notably during the 1990s with footballing icons such as Gianfranco Zola, Fabio Cannavaro, and Hernan Crespo. With that history, the fans are not content sitting in the relegation zone in Serie A, and thus the tension was palpable among the home support. I was sat behind the goal in the section directly adjacent to the Roma away fans, who were in full voice. On a cold Sunday night under the lights, the teams were ready for kickoff. With that being said, let’s look at what transpired over the next 90 minutes.

First Half

The game started out fairly even for the first 30 minutes, with few chances for either side. Parma had the best chance of the first quarter of the game, as left winger Matteo Cancellieri’s mazy run ended with a pass into the box for striker Ange-Yoan Bonny, who slid in to fire just wide for the hosts. Parma, it could be said, was the better side for the first 30 minutes, clearly content with sitting back a bit and letting Roma possess in their half. They looked dangerous on the counter and Roma looked completely unthreatening. That is, until the 29th minute completely changed the outlook of the game. After a neat exchange between Roma forwards Matìas Soulè and Eldor Shomurodov, Parma’s 18 year-old center back, Giovanni Leoni, tripped Soulè as he was through on goal. First giving a yellow card and a penalty, a VAR review determined the foul was just outside the box, as well as ruling it a clear denial of a goal-scoring opportunity, and thus a red card. Soulè proceeded to hit a beautiful free kick with his left foot into the top right corner, putting Roma up 1-0. The half ended 1-0 to the team from the capital, but it felt undeserved after they hardly created any chances from open play.

Second Half

Despite playing down a man, Parma hung in the game for the entirety of the second half, even creating a chance or 2 of their own. Roma still looked unthreatening for large portions of the game, though they did have some clear chances to extend their lead. Roma’s biggest chance came in the 50th minute, when Parma keeper Zion Suzuki made a miraculous double save. He first pushed a shot wide from Soulè at the right side of the box, which went straight to Roma winger Salah-Eddine, who seemed to have an open goal to aim at. Miraculously, Suzuki sprinted and dived back onto the line, somehow keeping the ball from crossing over. It was truly an outrageous play from Suzuki, in my opinion the best save of the season in any league in Europe.

Parma came closest to scoring with a left-footed volley from Simon Sohm in the 56th minute that blazed just over the crossbar. Other than that, the story of the second half was constant Roma possession, content with keeping the ball until the clock ran out. There was a sense of inevitability in terms of the outcome, and it was always going to be an uphill battle for Parma with 10 men. The ref blew the final whistle, with the game finishing 1-0 to Roma.

Broader Implications for Parma

That loss was Parma’s 4th consecutive in Serie A, now sitting firmly in the relegation zone in 18th. This result prompted the ownership group to make the bold decision to sack head coach Fabio Pecchia and hire Cristian Chivu the next day. It’s clear that something needs to change for Parma, though time will tell whether this was the right move from Kyle Krause and co at the helm. Parma face Bologna at home on Saturday, and a win in Chivu’s first game may be just the boost this team needs to push on and fight for safety as the season rolls to a close. I am looking forward to my next game at the Tardini, and I will be following Parma’s journey closely until the Serie A season finishes in May.
